Vedanta Aluminum complies with the government order regarding BIS certification

Vedanta Aluminum on Friday said it has complied with the government’s order mandating the issuance of BIS certification for wire ropes and rolled products.

The government last year introduced a new law for quality control of aluminum and aluminum alloys.

The certification applies to products manufactured at its Balco facility in Chhattisgarh and Jharsuguda unit in Odisha.

Vedanta Aluminum holds BIS certification for a wide range of aluminum products, including 12 mm wire rods, rolled sheets, rolled conductor plates, rolled plates, alloy ingots and primary ingots, all catering to various engineering and industrial purposes.

“The BIS approval of Vedanta Aluminum’s steel and rolled products is a testament to our commitment to quality, safety, and compliance,” said Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sunil Gupta.

Vedanta Aluminum, a Vedanta Limited entity, is a leading aluminum producer that produced 2.37 million tonnes of aluminum in FY24.
