LeBron James and Son Bronny Sue Over 2022 Car Accident

LeBron James and his eldest son, Bronny Jamesare the victims of a new lawsuit related to a car accident that happened almost two years ago in California.

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 23, the plaintiffs April Almanza Lopez again Kiara Rae McGillen they say LeBron and Bronny bumped into each other on the highway in Littlerock, California, in November 2022.

According to documents obtained by Us WeeklyMcGillen was driving with Lopez as his passenger when the two sons crashed their car. The women suspect that they received injuries in the accident that still require treatment. They also said the accident damaged their car, requiring expensive repairs and rendering it useless.

Plaintiffs noted that they anticipate other expenses, noting that in the future they will “hire physicians, surgeons and others to obtain examinations, treatments and care.”

The lawsuit does not specify the amount of money the women are seeking, but they are asking for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage and legal fees. They also want a jury trial.

Bronny, 20, made his professional debut earlier this week after being drafted by his father’s NBA team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in June. During the Lakers game on Tuesday, October 22, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bronny played a total of three minutes. He took two shots but missed both and finished the game with one offensive rebound.

Tuesday’s game marked the first time father-daughter and son have played together in the NBA. The two shared 90 seconds on the court during the second quarter. (The Lakers ended up beating the Timberwolves 110-103.)

“That moment, as we’re at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, it’s a moment I’ll never forget,” LeBron, 39, told the media after the game. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment.”

Before Bronny’s debut on the court, TNT cameras captured LeBron giving his son some advice. “Are you ready? You can see the tension, right? Just play casually, though,” said the Olympic gold medalist. “Don’t worry about mistakes. Just go out and play hard.”
