Yellowstone’s Ian Bohen doesn’t know how the series ends

The series finale of Yellowstone it’s kept so tight that even the other characters don’t know how it ends.

In an exclusive interview, Ian Bohen – who plays rancher Ryan – took the lengths the production went to to keep the expectations of the Dutton family a surprise. “There were some script changes this season to keep the final episode a secret,” the 48-year-old actor said. Us. “There is a page count and you have an idea of ​​where the ending is [compared to] where you are looking, [but] I don’t know the distance between the two. It’s very strange.”

“To be perfectly honest, I don’t know how it ends,” he continued. “I know what’s going on, but I don’t know How it happens. I feel free to say that I don’t know how it ends.”

Bohen also remained tight-lipped on what fans can expect from Ryan as well Lainey WilsonAbby, who said an emotional goodbye at the end of the season after the singer found out the farm hand would be heading to Texas.

“What I can tell you is that the chemistry between Ryan and Abby, and the potential for their story to continue, is so great that it would be a terrible shame if we never saw them again,” Youth Wolf quipped the alum. “I would be shocked if you don’t see that time next season.”

What Bohen is confident of is that season 5B – which he described as “incredibly dramatic, harrowing, heartbreaking and hopeful” – will meet the expectations of loyal viewers.

“From the beginning, we have told you where we are going,” he said. “When you go back and watch the first time, it’s obvious where this thing is going to end – and nobody wants to believe that. But we’re getting there, and I believe it’s going to be satisfying.”

Now that filming is wrapped (“It’s a feeling, I’ll tell you,” he admitted) Bohen is already looking back on what he refers to as a “once-in-a-lifetime” adventure.

“We started in the main room of the house with a study table, too [were] they all look at each other, studying without even knowing who the actors are and where they come from,” he explained.

Seven years later, there has been “finding, playing, a lot of hard work and sometimes situations and times where you think, ‘Man, I don’t know if I still want to do this,’ but we move forward together and become a family.”

As for whether fans can expect to see Ryan’s story continue to unfold or continue YellowstoneBohen crosses his fingers (“He has a lot of untapped potential,” shared the actor) but ultimately, it all lies with the series creator, Taylor Sheridan.

“The actors are so outstanding that it would be a shame not to see them again,” he said Uswe note the “powers that be” in the negotiations. “But there are a lot of things that it’s impossible for anyone to say except for the manager – and if he wants to do it, it will be done.”

Until then, Bohen is enjoying his time off and adjusting to his new normal. “I miss early morning riding horses in the field on the farm [with] a white barn on one side and mountains on the other,” he commented, noting the friendships he found on the set of a Western drama were “hard to find.” Most importantly, “I will miss the people, their faces and their strength.”
