“We are facing 2-0 with you Clowns!” – Kambosos Laughing Lopez
George Kambosos Jr. opened up to Teofimo Lopez, responding to him on social media that he made “reasonable promises” to him and Devin Haney, and both “refused.” Kambosos says Teofimo is a fake and knows nothing about PPVs or ticket sales.
When asked about the “reasonable offer,” Teofimo said Kamboso and Haney were promised “Guaranteed $2.4 million and a 55/45 split on PPV.” Teo did not say that he will get the 55th share, but it may be so. He holds the WBO light welterweight title, which could be his argument as to why he deserves a bigger piece.
Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) still wants to fight Teofimo (21-1, 13 KOs) and wants to touch him. Aussie Kambosos defeated Teofimo via a 12-round split decision three years ago on November 27, 2021. Teofimo chose not to seek a rematch and instead moved up to 140 and was quickly placed by his promoters at Top Rank to win the WBO title against him. the late Josh Taylor on June 10, 2023,
Former United lightweight champion Kambosos signed a promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing on November 24. He is set to fight the winner of the December 7 fight between Liam Paro and Richardson Hitchins, the IBF light welterweight champion.
Bring your Dad with you
George Kambosos Jr: “There is your offer that makes sense 🤣. You are Fugazi [fake]as I said in 2021 and as I say now in 2024. What is a reasonable gift you know nothing about money, PPVs or selling tickets HAHA, you are fighting in wedding ballrooms these days, you don’t even know your coming or going. If you really want it, like I’ve always said, you know where to find me. Bring your father, we are already 2 and 0 against you clowns. Your bosses [Top Rank] I don’t respect you, just like I don’t respect you and treat you badly,” said Kambosos Jr. on X.
Teofimo Lopez: “We sent the right provisions to fight Team Haney and Team Kambosos. Both refused! If you don’t believe it, ask Top Rank and Bruce Trampler. You are crazy about that WITSEC! #Boxing. @Realdevinhaney @georgekambosos.
“Guaranteed $2.4M and 55/45 split on PPV split.”
It doesn’t seem like Teofimo is serious about wanting to fight Haney or Kambosos and was just posting on social media for attention. The way Teofimo has looked lately, he won’t be holding on to his WBO 140-lb division for much longer.
He hasn’t looked the same since moving up to 140 and has struggled in fights against Steve Claggett, Jamaine Ortiz, Pedro Campa, and Sandor Martin. The last fight Teofimo looked good was against Josh Taylor, but he’s just a shell of himself since his fight with Jose Ramirez in 2021.
