Who will win the highly anticipated match between the two best heavyweights in the world, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury? Revenge or repeat?
Back in May, Usyk made boxing history when he defeated Fury via a 12-round split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the modern 4-belt era. Usyk has even left the IBF belt after being pressured by the organization. However, make no mistake, Oleksandr is the only true heavyweight champion of the world. (In fact, he already won the IBF heavyweight title, Daniel Dubois).
Their first fight was a very competitive and exciting fight where Usyk and Fury both had success. The biggest difference in the official result was the iconic moment in the 9th round, when Usyk was badly hurt by Fury’s left hand. Usyk then went on a rampage against Fury, as he staggered from one side of the ring to the other, Usyk hammering him all over the team. Fury ended up crashing into the ropes, at which point the referee ruled a ground trial. At the end of the night, Usyk was awarded a 12-round split decision victory. Two judges scored it for Usyk, 115-112 and 114-113, while the third judge scored it 114-113 for Fury.
