4 years ago, Corporate America met with Biden. Maybe they really believed the message going forward. Perhaps they were intimidated by the management’s arguments about climate, race, gender and pronouns. Who knows? But it’s over.

Corporate America is now in a great race to switch sides.

Just look at Mark Zuckerberg and Meta. He and his company were bent on helping the Democrats. Zuckerberg has given $400 million to the 2020 election. After the January 6 protest, Facebook blocked Donald Trump. How’s that for freedom of speech? And when anyone tries to post unusual ideas on COVID, it gets checked!

Now a complete transformation. Zuckerberg takes a trip to Mar-a-Lago, donates money to Trump’s inauguration, and then shows up a new free speech program modeled after Elon Musk’s “X”.. In the video, he says there have been too many blockages! Think about it, a trillion-dollar company does a 180. New sheriff Zuckerberg is clearly worried, if not nervous about getting serious.

Then there is DEI, diversity, equity and inclusion, an enhanced version of affirmative action. The Biden team pushed it hard. Now, DEI is being lowered almost across the board.

I The latest to back down is McDonald’s. On Monday, it announced it would drop some of its top executive diversity policies. Meritocracy is making a comeback. Admittedly, the Supreme Court’s decision striking down affirmative action in colleges helped end DEI, but it was Donald Trump who established the court’s conservative majority.

IS 2024 THE YEAR DEI DIVIDED?

Shortly after winning the election, Trump held court at Mar-a-Lago. The media people come down to kiss the ring. Remember Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski desperately trying to get back on Trump’s good side after years of insults? And there was Canada’s Justin Trudeau, who was clearly afraid of Trump’s tariffs. But it was chain of command they have shown us the extent of the business reforms that Trump will bring. Bankers, oil guys, Wall Streeters, and the CEOs of all those multi-billion dollar tech companies.

They want to influence the new management, and they are not afraid to change sides. They will dump Biden and go with Trump, because he has the White House, the Senate and the House, and all the power that goes with it.
