Valve will finally sell Steam Deck in Australia

It will come this In November in the same main configuration Valve is selling elsewhere: the 256GB configuration of the original LCD model, or the 512GB and 1TB versions of the new OLED model that also come with longer battery life, a better screen, and more. They will cost AUD $649, $899, and $1,049 respectively.

(While the OLED model costs $250 AUD more than the original, it has many important changes that I would personally recommend over the LCD version to anyone who can afford it.)

While the OLED model will be a year old by the time it arrives in Australia, there’s no current indication that Valve will release a faster and better version anytime soon – and no Windows handheld can currently match it for ease of use, or some limited performance. and the Asus ROG Ally X can also beat it in AAA battery life for gaming.

That said, Valve may also bring its SteamOS to portable rivals like the Asus ROG Ally X before too many months pass, and I was very impressed when I ran Bazzite’s version of the SteamOS interface on my Ally X review unit (though . has wrinkles).

If you’re at PAX Australia in Melbourne, you can try the Steam Deck at the Valve booth today.
