Usyk Shares Emotional Letter From Ukrainian Soldier Before Resurgence Of Rage

The buzz is buzzing around Oleksandr Usyk’s two fights: the boxing arena as he prepares to fight Tyson Fury on DAZN PPV this Saturday, and the war-torn stadiums in his home country. In an exclusive interview with Mail Sport, he shared a painful moment that went beyond just the game. Ukrainian heavyweight carefully revealed a letter from a veteran soldier with the same name, Oleksandr, sign “Shket.” This fighter from the Armed Forces of Ukraine poured his soul into the paper, praising Usyk for managing Ukrainian boxing.

“Dear Mr. Oleksandr,” the letter began. “My brothers and I watch all your battles whenever possible and leave you with all our hearts.” Those words echoed like gunshots, full of emotion and pride. The soldier recounted the brutal scenes in Kyiv, Bakhmut, and Kherson, describing how each Usyk victory burned like a beacon of fire through the darkness of war. “We know what hard work is and that every victory is worthwhile,” he wrote, tying the blood and sweat of the arena to the atmosphere of the boxing ring.

Usyk, who once joined the Kyiv Territorial Defense to defend his homeland, heard the entire strike of names as a call to arms. When he finished reading, he looked up, eyes burning with conviction. “This gives me more motivation,” he said. “I am very grateful to Oleksandr and our Ukrainian soldiers who support my country and fight to defend it.
