Trump Organization eyeing deal to convert DC Waldorf-Astoria back to Trump International Hotel: report
The Trump Organization is looking at the possible restoration of the Old Post Office building that is being leased as a Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, DC.
According to the New York Post, citing three sources familiar with the matter, the Trump Organization is looking at various possibilities, including a license arrangement or the purchase of a lease agreement for the historic building of the Old Post Office.
This building is 125 years old and is owned by the government.
“Our family saved the hotel once. If asked, we’ll save it again,” Eric Trump told the outlet.

According to the source, sources said President-elect Trump is considering a hospitality investment in the DC region, although there has been no official communication with Waldorf Astoria about a potential deal.

Trump sold a Washington, DC, hotel rental property in May 2022 to a Miami-based investor fund.
The Trump Organization won the rights to renovate the building and operate it as a hotel in exchange for annual rent and a cut of the profits upon sale.
