TIP to provide runway lighting system for Noida airport

Honeywell Automation India Ltd (HAIL) will supply the runway lighting system at Noida International Airport.
The contract covers the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the system for the 10L-28R runway and associated taxiways at the airport, which is expected to begin commercial operation early next year.
In a statement on Monday, HAIL said its learning aids will play a key role in helping aircraft manage tarmac in severe weather conditions and will support landing and road safety.
The system uses ‘smart light’ technology, making the ground taxi process easier for pilots. It will also help pilots improve their situational awareness by automatically turning lights on and off based on information shared by aircraft surveillance and tracking systems and control towers.
In the first phase, the airport in Uttar Pradesh will have one runway and one terminal, with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually.
Once all four phases are completed, the airport’s capacity will increase to 70 million passengers per year.
