In a special interview no Us Weekly, Alexandria Isola recalled meeting the former One Direction member at Greenacres Bowl near Wellington, FL on September 22, and had a heartfelt conversation he’ll never forget.
“He was a sincere, humble, cool person,” Isola, 24, said Us. “I was telling him I was talking to Universal Orlando about maybe filming [my TV show “5 Days A Week”] there, and he was telling me it was there [One Direction] it was necessary Four album release and how they made him ride Dueling Dragons nine times.
When the Florida resort became a topic of conversation, Isola continued to reminisce about meeting members of Wanted – including Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuinness again Tom Parker – at the theme park.
My father played that [I] he liked The Wanted better than One Direction and he [was] like, ‘You know, with The Wanted, I just went [Tom’s] funeral and he was a good guy,’” Isola recalled. “You can see that it really affected him.”
Isola said Us that Payne was “delighted” to have been able to attend Parker’s celebration of life. (The singer Wanted died in March 2022 at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.)
“It hit me hard; that he was talking about going to Tom’s funeral,” said Isola. “And now you just passed right after meeting him.”

Payne He died on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. He was 31 years old. Us later he confirmed that the first autopsy report of the singer said that he died from multiple injuries including “bleeding inside and out.” He suffered “multiple traumas” that contributed to his death, according to the report.
As fans continue to mourn Payne’s tragic death, Isola is taking comfort in her connection with the singer last month.
He remembered the first one IX Factor UK the competitor plays by throwing the ball between his legs. At one point, he stood back when he tried to knock down the pins.
“He seemed like a goofball,” Isola said. “If I can be that one person who can shed some light on how he’s been the past few weeks happy and excited that maybe he’s taking a chance on comedy and being a normal Florida guy. … I didn’t see anything strange going on there.
“After I found out he passed, you never know what happens to a person,” he added. “Never judge a book by its cover and never judge a person by their past no matter what happens.”
Payne told Isola he moved to Wellington, Florida, earlier this summer, which happens to be the polo capital of the country. In his last posts on social media, the singer shared his love of horse racing: “We’re going to ride horses,” he said while in Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy. “I think I will play polo again, which will keep me out for about six weeks. In fact, polo is all I’ve ever done sports-wise… It’s like I have to go have fun. It is very difficult to do number one. Number two, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around or hammer, [I] think it’s called,” he told his viewers. “It’s very painful. It is very difficult to do, but we are enjoying ourselves here.”
And Isola can’t help but wonder what her life would be like in her new hometown.
“He has been coming back over here [to us] and he was just chatting. He kept hugging again and again. He saw my card and I said, ‘Oh, that’s you. That’s great!’ He said, ‘I wish I had been incorporated at 24.’
“He was normal [and] he kept wanting to come back because I think he doesn’t have that normal in his life.
“I really felt that he was open to cooperation and I think he wanted to help.
“It seemed like he was just trying to, like, reinvent himself,” he shared. “Have a normal life. I think he was ready for a new chapter.”
