Thread users can now see who follows them from various other servers

The head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday that users who have connected their accounts to fediverse, also known as the open social web, can now see who follows them and likes their posts on various other servers, such as Mastodon and Pixelfed.
The company said users will now have up to 15 minutes to make changes and edit their social media posts.
You can tap on a post’s activity or their followers list to see a full list of followers and likes from various other servers. You will need to click on the “various followers” or “various likes” section to view the lists.
The announcement comes as Threads has been slowly deepening its relationship with fediverse over the past few months after allowing users to link their accounts to fediverse in March.
For example, the company started allowing users to see different responses to other people’s posts a few weeks ago, bringing more content to Threads. It is worth noting that users have been able to see different responses to their posts since June. Although Threads users can reply to replies from other servers, subsidiary Meta said the feature is still under development.
Threads is the largest social network to use ActivityPub, a decentralized social network protocol that includes fediverse, as it reaches nearly 200 million users, according to Meta. The fediverse itself has over 12 million users.
As for the extended time limit for editing posts, Threads gives users more time to edit or edit posts, as users previously only had five minutes to do so.
Mosseri noted that if you have linked your account to fediverse, your Threads post will be shared to fediverse 15 minutes later, after the editing window is closed.
Threads first rolled out the ability to edit posts last year, and unlike X (formerly Twitter), users don’t have to pay extra to access the feature. However, X gives users a very long time to edit a post, as users can do so up to an hour after the post is shared.
