In The Young and the Restless, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) had some public arguments. And they insulted everyone in Genoa City. Also, it may be more than just a breakup in their marriage. It can be a selective experience.
Are Jack and Diane really breaking up… or are they both plotting revenge?
And, for the young and the restless, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) master plan is to destroy Jabot. And breaking down Jack’s personal life. Victor wants to destroy Jack’s marriage and family. Victor lured Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to Glissade. And he took every opportunity to widen the gap between Kyle and his parents. Which works like a charm. Jack and Diane have been secretly arguing about Kyle. But, it has never been as bad as it has appeared to the public. And Diane has no doubt that Kyle stole that product from Jabot, but they have no way to prove it.
Meanwhile, Jack and Diane have been having a lot of public fights. Also, there are always witnesses. Sometimes Victor watches and laughs, sometimes Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Leblanc), Kyle, or Clare Newman (Hayley Erin). Jack even fights Diane in front of Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and her boyfriend Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins). But we haven’t seen much of Diane alone with Jack lately when it’s just the two of them. So, we don’t know what really goes on behind their closed doors.

Later this week, Diane comes home upset and tells Traci that Jack told her to get out of the mansion. Can these conflicts be real, or is it all a big plan, a theater to convince Victor that his plan is working? Granted, Kyle stole a product from Jabot, but is that enough to break the bond Jack and Diane have?
If Jack and Diane hatch a scheme, they’ll have to keep it at home to make sure Kyle believes it. The only time they could be free was behind closed doors in the office or in their bedroom in the main house. This week, Kyle tells Clare how upset he is about the breakdown of his parents’ marriage and all these nasty public fights. And he seems rightly pissed off, even though he knows he’s part of ripping them off.
On Friday, Victor is fully convinced that Diane’s public outbursts have shocked everyone and Jack’s marriage is on the rocks, and he goes to Diane, trying to persuade her to come with him to the dark side. He may tempt her to work with him, even offering to help her reconcile with Kyle. And this may be exactly what Jack and Diane hoped he would do.
IY&R: Victor’s Trap for Diane Jenkins and Kyle Abbott’s Betrayal
Diane may be a Trojan horse. Also, Victor invites him to his inner house. Is it a trap?
If Victor lets her in because he thinks she’s broken up with Jack, then Diane can get information that will help Jack, Billy (Jason Thompson), Lily (Christel Khalil), Audra (Zuleyka Silver), and others get revenge on Victor Newman.
Even Jill (Jess Walton) returns, and she will want revenge.
It remains to be seen if Jack and Diane are really going to break up. Or, these two are as strong as ever and are united in the plan to teach Kyle a lesson and take Victor down a notch or two or ten.
Kyle is coming off as a rookie who should appreciate the opportunities he got at Jabot. And there were better ways to deal with his discontent than to betray the family business by going to his rival and stealing Jabot.
As for Victor, he might need to be brutally taken down this time, given how many people he’s messed with in the past. Currently, he directs the company of Chancellor, Jill Abbott, and his friend Neil’s daughter, Lily. So many people are at risk.
