The team behind the ‘Hawk Tuah’ star coin has a virus associated with the crash case
The team behind the viral “Hawk Tuah Girl” meme coin Hailey Welch has come under fire from investors after the $HAWK coin crashed within hours of its launch.
The complaint filed in New York on Thursday accuses the Tuah The Moon Foundation; overHere Ltd and founder Clinton So; and promoter Alex Larson Schulz, known as “Doc Hollywood,” for illegally selling and promoting the coin, which allegedly wasn’t a registered security, according to the New York Post.

Welch, whose name has not been released, addressed the situation on social media on Friday.
“I take this situation very seriously and want to talk to my fans, affected investors, and the community at large,” he wrote on X. “I am fully cooperating and committed to assisting the legal team representing the affected individuals. , as well as helping to reveal the truth, hold the affected parties accountable, and resolve this matter.”

Welch instructed anyone who suffered a loss from the $HAWK coin to contact the Burwick Law Firm.
$HAWK launched on Dec. 5, and Welch promoted it to his social media following. The meme coin quickly reached a market cap of $490 million, before dropping to just $41.7 million in just a few hours.
Welch told Fortune at the time that Hawk was not meant to be “money.”
