The Royal Family’s 2024 Recap: A Look Back at Their Biggest Moments
The royal family has kept a low profile in 2024 – especially since several members are facing serious health problems.

The King’s Illness
The palace announced that Charles underwent a routine prostate procedure in January. A week later, the king was diagnosed with an unknown cancer.
“His Majesty has today started a program of regular treatment, which is when he was advised by doctors to postpone the work of looking after the public,” announced the February statement. “During this time, His Majesty will continue to carry out State work and official documents as usual.”
Charles initially withdrew from his public service work but has since returned to work full time. Details about his cancer journey have been sparse but the palace shared that Charles will continue chemotherapy in 2025.
When asked to review his health in December, Charles proved that he is still in good spirits. “I’m still alive,” he joked. (Well, it’s promising.)
The Photoshop Scandal
Kate celebrated Mother’s Day on March 10, and shared a photo with her three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – which seemed to be staged.
