The PS5 port of Palworld is still on hold in Japan

Sony has included the launch of the PS5 in the Palworld as one of its stories during its State of Play presentation on Tuesday evening, but left out the details. While the game has been launched on PlayStation platforms in 68 countries and regions around the world, Japan is not one of them.

The official Japanese account of the game said on X, according to the machine translation, that the release date in Japan “has not been decided,” without going into details about the reason. It certainly seems like the reason could be the copyright infringement lawsuit Nintendo and The Pokémon Company filed against Palworld developer Pocketpair last week, but the tweet didn’t confirm things otherwise.
