The Oura Ring 3 Horizon is down to $299

I third generation Oura Ring Horizon — the very round one — is down to $299 ($50 off) at Amazon and Best Buy in silver and black, which is only a few dollars off the lowest price so far. That brings its price in line with the MSRP of the squared-off “Gugu” version and $50 cheaper than the Oura Ring 4 we recently reviewed.

Without abandoning the flat design, the Oura Ring 3 Horizon offers the same essential tracking experience as the original. It has seven temperature sensors, a blood oxygen-monitoring SpO2 sensor, and a green LED optical heart rate monitor.

Those sensors work in tandem to power a growing suite of sleep tracking metrics, providing easily digestible snapshots into the quality of all your sleep stages. It can detect when and how long you went into REM and deep sleep, for example. Add in heart rate monitoring, and you can see how long it takes your ticker to reach your resting heart rate, or simply get a reading of your heart rate whenever you want throughout the day. It can also track your step count and predict menstrual cycles.

There’s a lot the Oura Ring tries to collect about your health, but you’ll want to check out our full review to see if you’re getting any of its valuable additional readings for your health information base. Just be prepared to spend $5.99 per month for an Oura membership to keep reading after the one-month trial expires.
