The Kerala government allocated an additional Rs 211 crore to private institutions
The Kerala government has provided an additional fund of Rs 211 crore to local self-governing institutions in the state.
The money, meant for the three-tier panchayats, municipalities, and corporations, is an additional installment of the general purpose fund, which can be used for public needs, state finance minister KN Balagopal said here on Saturday.
Of the total Rs 211 crore, village panchayats will get Rs 150 crore, block panchayats will get Rs 10 crore, and district panchayats will get Rs 7 crore.
A total of Rs 26 crore will be given to municipalities, while Rs 28 crore will be allocated to companies, he added in a statement.
Despite the lack of funding due to central government policies, the state government is still committed to providing the full amount allocated to LSGD institutions, the minister said.
A total of Rs 10,011 crore has been given to private institutions in the state so far during the ongoing financial year, Balagopal said.
