The Biden-Harris administration’s investigation called for a Medicare premium offset program before the election

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., discusses the second assassination attempt on Trump, the explosion of a Hezbollah pager in Lebanon and the impact of the presidential candidates’ proposals on the US economy.
The planned $5 billion Biden-Harris venture to block Medicare increases just before the presidential election may be a violation of the Hatch Act and should be investigated, according to a letter sent to the Department of Justice (DOJ) by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
The Hatch Act prohibits official political activity.
“My colleagues and I are concerned that the Biden-Harris Administration is misusing taxpayer funds to cover up the flawed Medicare Part D policies enacted as part of the IR Act.A) in 2022 (PL 117-169),” Paul wrote to Corey Amundson, Chief of the Public Integrity Division at the DOJ. An IRA important role in the presidential campaign of the Biden-Harris Administration, these issues require further investigation. “

Paul noted that Medicare premiums are set to increase significantly in 2023 following IRA enactment.
“Additionally, Medicare Part D premiums were expected to increase even more this year when open enrollment begins in October,” he wrote. “However, the Biden-Harris Administration has deliberately started a consultation process to address rising costs for seniors only in an election year.”

In July, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Services unveiled a plan to stabilize these rising premiums — reportedly at a cost of about $5 billion over the program’s three-year administration.
“Kamala Harris cast a no-nonsense vote to pass the Anti-Inflation Act, which now increases health care premiums for seniors. Americans should know that Biden and Harris are now illegally giving insurance companies taxpayer money to hide those costs. It’s rising well as seniors look to vote,” wrote the Senator to X.
SET PASSES FINANCIAL COMMUNICATIONS BILL WITHOUT FINAL LEGISLATION, AVOIDING A POSSIBLE CLOSURE
Both Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden – before he finished his re-election campaign – identified the IRA as a selling point to voters.
They are not alone, either. Down-voting Democrats voiced their support for the bill on the campaign trail, too.
