Netflix Unveils ‘Arcane’ Season 2 Trailer

Netflix has given fans of the Emmy-winning adult animated series Arcane a sneak peek of what’s to come in the second and final season. A trailer released Thursday at Netflix’s Geeked Week event showed a bloody look at what’s to come in Arcane.

The text of the trailer promises that part 1 of the season will arrive on Nov. 9, part 2 on Nov. 16 and part 3 on Nov. 23.

Arcane follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, who are caught up in the turmoil between the city of Piltover and the oppressed region of Zaun. Vi is voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and Powder/Jinx by Ella Purnell.

Steinfeld and Purnell also revealed that there will be a new Arcane show called Afterglow, with other details to be announced.

“Simply put, Arcane is a masterpiece,” wrote CNET reviewer Jennifer Bisset in 2022. “Don’t let it slip under your radar. This Netflix series may be animated — it may be based on a video game — but its characters are more vividly drawn than 90% of live-action TV.”

In 2022, Arcane won four Primetime Emmy Awards, including outstanding animated program, the first broadcast series to receive that award. It swept the 2022 Annie Awards with wins in nine categories and won best adaptation at the 2022 Game Awards. And Arcane’s album is nominated for a 2022 Billboard Music Award for top song.

The show is set in the League of Legends universe. The nine-episode first season premiered in November 2021.
