In the Season 2 episode “The Reek of Desperation,” the Dutton family’s in-house chef, Gator, serves grilled octopus for dinner. In the scene, John Dutton responds to a meal, asking the chef, “Gator, what the f*** is that,” with a disgusted look on his face. According to the real-life chef who portrays Gator, the line was Kevin Costner’s reaction, as Costner didn’t really expect what was being served.
