Taylor Swift surpasses Rihanna to become the richest female singer in the world

Taylor Swift has been named the richest female singer in the world.

Swift, 34, has a net worth of $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. Rihanna previously held this position, reaching $1.7 billion, but her estimated net worth has dropped to $1.4 billion.

The pop star hit $1 billion in October, largely thanks to The Eras Tour and her recently recorded albums. Swift is one of the few artists who has succeeded financially through music releases and concerts, Bloomberg reported at the time.

Swift opened The Eras Tour in Arizona back in March 2023. She toured the US throughout that summer, closing the first leg of the tour in August 2023 in Los Angeles. He has been on this international tour since February and will conclude his performances in December after returning his stage to the US. The tour itself is expected to bring in $1.5 billion, depending on ticket prices, Forbes reports.

Swift also chose to release her concert film only in theaters. “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” premiered on October 13, 2023 and grossed $92.8 million in its opening weekend.

Since becoming a billionaire, Swift released her 11th album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” in April.

This global pop star has managed to continue to bring in money while other artists are struggling in the new era of broadcasting.

“Taylor is in a unique position, in terms of monetizing her talent. At a time when artists are losing millions – as album sales have led to digital downloads – she’s actually riding the tech wave, instead of riding the digital tide,” marketing expert Doug Eldridge he previously told FOX Business.

Swift has changed the music industry for female artists, according to Dr. Sonja Stribling, retired US Army Major and author of the upcoming book, “From the Battlefield to the Boardroom.”

“It’s not just the money he makes, which is very important, but he creates a way for other people to follow,” Dr. Stribling told FOX Business. “I know without a doubt that she and Beyoncé have had a conversation about this because they are looking for a way for others to follow. They are the first of many – especially women – to lead the way. So, it’s not just a millionaire position. But Taylor is going to go down in history for setting high goals for others to want to achieve. “

“I know that only 1% of these people in the industry that he works in, and maybe less than that, will achieve what he has achieved, and he makes it look easy,” he added.
