Taiwan official warns China, Russia, Iran about ‘coalition’ after Blinken says ‘no axis’ exists

Taiwan’s US ambassador warns that China, Iran and Russia are forming an “alliance” that the world should be ready for.

It comes days after Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the three democratic countries are working together but not “the axis,” as they have been called recently.

“They work together, that’s true, whether that’s the axis or the alliance” Alexander Yui, Taiwan’s representative to the US, told Fox News this week.

“And as you know, it’s up to anyone to explain. But there were definitely signs, signs that they were working together.”

During the interview, Yui also suggested that the Taiwanese government is in contact with Vice President Harris and former President Trump’s circles to prepare for whatever comes next in American relations.

“The whole world is watching, and I’m sure the diplomatic community here in Washington, DC, is watching as well [trying] reaching out to both candidates or people close to the candidates,” Yui said.

Blinken wrote an op-ed in Foreign Affairs Magazine on Oct. 1 states that world powers are in a race to set the stage for a “new era” of international relations.

“A small number of countries – especially Russia, with the cooperation of Iran and North Korea, and China – are willing to change the basic principles of the international system. Although their forms of governance, ideas, interests, and powers differ, these revisionist forces all want to entrench democratic governance at home and say spheres of influence abroad,” a Biden administration official wrote.

“Although these countries are not the axis, and the administration was clear that they do not want a conflict between the groups, the decisions made by these countries mean that we must take decisive action to prevent that outcome.”

Meanwhile, national security hawks on the right and left have warned that the four powers are forming an unholy alliance not seen since WWII.

Both House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., called them the new “axis of evil.”

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., former majority leader of House Democrats, said after President Biden’s speech in Israel and Ukraine in October 2023, “We are facing a new domain of evil today. Russia, North Korea, Iran and Iran’s proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah are united in their attack on democracy.”
