There is a lot of controversy surrounding the movie already and the film’s marketing team is dialing it down a bit towards the former and possibly future President of the United States.
And with that, the director of The Apprentice, Ali Abbasi, had some vague words about the American people and (in his opinion) not wanting to make this kind of film about Trump.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Abbasi revealed some of the obstacles the film went through since its inception and how they had trouble finding people in the industry willing to do business.
Abbasi said, “My guess is that the Americans didn’t have the balls to make this film themselves – and I wasn’t really wrong.”
