Store closures drag into second week after Blue Yonder ransomware attack
A ransomware attack on supply chain software Blue Yonder continues to cause disruption to the company’s customers, nearly two weeks after it started.
In a brief update on its cybersecurity incident page on Sunday, Arizona-based Blue Yonder said it was making “good progress” in its recovery from the attack, which hit its hosting facility on November 21. The company said “several” affected customers had been brought back online, but added that “working hard” and others “returning them to normal business activities.”
It is still unknown how many customers have been affected and Blue Yonder spokeswoman Marina Renneke declined to say when asked by TechCrunch on Monday.
UK supermarkets Morrisons and Sainsbury’s confirmed to TechCrunch last week that they were affected and US coffee giant Starbucks said a ransomware attack was forcing managers to calculate staff salaries.
