Warriors stars Steph Curry and Draymond Green discussed the new addition of Nets guard Dennis Schroder.
Curry has a lot of experience against the German native, as they have faced each other 17 times in the NBA.
“He’s a real competitor,” Curry said of Schroder. “He can create, score, run the offense, the whole list. I’m glad to see him connect. A guy that I can play with in the backfield, who can handle a lot of the ball manager’s responsibility when I’m not on the field. It gives us another guy who can attack and defend and on the other hand he likes to compete.
“He tries again at the end. So it should be a seamless transition for him. We’ll see how it looks.”
Green is also a big fan of Schroder’s work.
“I like the way he carries himself,” Green said. “He carries himself like he belongs in every room, all the time. I respect such people. Eager to become partners, to get to know him better. But I know who you are and what you are, and that’s what matters.”
The four-time champions Warriors made sure to thank the Warriors front office for their swift move to secure a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup on the first day they were allowed.
“It definitely gives us a sense of what the front office is feeling and thinking,” Green said. “Mike has been great since he stepped into that role. To have that sense of urgency to get that deal done (snaps fingers) just goes to show who he is, why he took that role and why he’s going to continue to be great in this league as a general manager. .”
Curry added, “And Bob [former GM Myers] and with Mike, it’s always a conversation if there’s something real or something we have to have a serious conversation about at that time that involves me. I don’t want to be distracted by that-if and all that kind of stuff. It happened very quickly. I’m excited for the opportunity to play with a guy we’ve been playing with for a while.”
