Steph at Klay’s first game Back at the Chase Center as a Maverick

Emotions will be high when Klay Thompson returns to his home of 13 seasons when the Warriors face the Mavericks on Tuesday night at the Chase Center.

“I’m not ready for this, man,” Curry said during a postgame interview after the win over OKC.

Later in the locker room, he thought about Klay coming home.

“We’ve been home before, but nothing like this,” said Steph. “The level of impact and the type of Klay in the Bay Area is something – I don’t know if any word or way to describe it will do it justice. Obviously we’ve got a game to play so you want to make sure we’re locked in on that. But he deserves celebration and recognition for what he will get. …It will be a good opportunity to reflect on all the memories we had. I don’t want to get too crazy, it’s not our anniversary or love…I’m still talking about basketball and life, but we want to enjoy his time to celebrate the celebration he deserves and anyway it’s played I just hope he feels the love. because he deserves it.

Steve Kerr shared similar sentiments with his star guard about what the night will mean.

“This is going to be as emotional as anything we’ve experienced, I think, in my time here,” Kerr said Athletic. “I think it will be more emotional than his return to play. Obviously now there is an end to it and thanks for everything he did hanging the posters, helping to build the stadium, loved by everyone. “

For Klay, however, he doesn’t seem to want to fix the past too much.

“It’s going to be good to see the guys that you’ve been training with obviously, but for me, it’s another regular season game in November,” he said in his press conference after Dallas’ 122-120 loss to Denver.

Klay also told Andscape: “That chapter is over. I’m in the middle of trying to win here. There is no need to miss anything when we have such a great opportunity here to be great. There is no need to look back…

“I have to look forward. I have to try to give my all here.”

When asked if he has been in contact with Steph and his four-time NBA Dubs teammate Draymond Green, Klay said, “I’m locked up. Not really. I’ll see them when I see them. That’s all.”
