Emotions will be high when Klay Thompson returns to his home of 13 seasons when the Warriors face the Mavericks on Tuesday night at the Chase Center.
“I’m not ready for this, man,” Curry said during a postgame interview after the win over OKC.
Later in the locker room, he thought about Klay coming home.
“We’ve been home before, but nothing like this,” said Steph. “The level of impact and the type of Klay in the Bay Area is something – I don’t know if any word or way to describe it will do it justice. Obviously we’ve got a game to play so you want to make sure we’re locked in on that. But he deserves celebration and recognition for what he will get. …It will be a good opportunity to reflect on all the memories we had. Steve Kerr shared similar sentiments with his star guard about what the night will mean.
“This is going to be as emotional as anything we’ve experienced, I think, in my time here,” Kerr said Athletic. “I think it will be more emotional than his return to play. For Klay, however, he doesn’t seem to want to fix the past too much.

Klay also told Andscape: “That chapter is over. I’m in the middle of trying to win here. There is no need to miss anything when we have such a great opportunity here to be great. There is no need to look back…

When asked if he has been in contact with Steph and his four-time NBA Dubs teammate Draymond Green, Klay said, “I’m locked up. Not really. I’ll see them when I see them. That’s all.”
