Sri Lanka will receive a 200 million USD loan from ADB to develop the energy sector
Sri Lanka’s Cabinet has accepted a proposal to sign two agreements with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to strengthen its electricity system and the integration of renewable energy projects, according to a statement from the government’s information ministry on Tuesday.
ADB has agreed to provide $200 million in two separate loans — $150 million and $50 million — to the Ceylon Electricity Board and Lanka Electricity (Pvt) Ltd., respectively, under two treasury guarantee agreements . Photo: ANI
