Shinobi came out from Sega in 1987, a simpler time in the video game life cycle. In this game, your character, Joe Musashi, is a ninja who aims to rescue kidnapped children and take down the criminal organization Zeed.
It was a side-scrolling game from left to right with players kicking, punching, and slashing their way to glory. It had all the hallmarks of games back then, crouching, jumping, swinging and fighting through an increasingly complex set of enemies and settings.
