So Shane Gillis turned down the role of Donald Trump Saturday Night Live That’s not all that surprising, though it’s disappointing. Seeing Gillis take on that role heading into the November election would be must-see television, given how he pulls off the role. But it doesn’t have to be like that.
Shane Gillis was a guest on the podcast at Skankfest (yes, that’s the name) and talked about why he was able to get there with his show. Host of the Real Ass Podcast, Luis J. Gomez described Gillis’ opening act, saying, “… It’s SNL and he refused…”
Shane Gillis responded, “They (SNL) said, ‘Are you serious?’ Will you say no? I said, ‘Lorne, I have to go to Coke Magic.’” The latter is a reference to Gomez’s podcast.
