Shakur Stevenson Wants Rage To Fight Dubois, ‘Walking Guillotine’
Shakur Stevenson wants to see IBF champion Daniel Dubois defeat Tyson Fury in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk last Saturday night in Riyadh.
Fury has to fight Dubois, but he won’t get anywhere near this predator. With the way Dubois goes to the body, Fury will be very vulnerable in his critical condition.
I don’t think Shakur understands what Fury is all about. He takes calculated risks, and is not about to put his head on the block by facing the walking guillotine Dubois. If Fury were true, Audie Murphy type, you wouldn’t ask him twice to face Dubois. He doesn’t talk about that, though. Fighting Dubois would be bad for Fury’s life.
Too Strong, Too Small?
That will show great courage on the part of the Gypsy king to agree to fight Dubois because after what he just went through, he did not want to lose for the third time in a row. It would be an easy fight to make, considering Fury and Dubois shared the same promoter, Frank Warren.
Before Fury’s two losses against Usyk, he considered himself the best player in the division. His fans saw him as the best, and didn’t care that his CV lacked quality achievements.
Many fans would also like to see Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) fight Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) next. This will allow him to snap a two-fight losing streak and help build interest in the fight against Anthony Joshua.
As things stand now, Fury will enter the AJ fight with an 0-2 record in his last two fights, making their clash costly. It is almost impossible for Fury and his promoters to agree to fight Dubois, 27.
He is too strong, dangerous, and too small for Fury. The Gypsy King was being hurt by Usyk, who is not a puncher. The three fights Fury had with Deontay Wilder did something for him.
Fury’s Calculated Risks
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, and Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, are interested in setting up a fight between the two next. Hearn said he would like the first fight to be at Wembley Stadium in London and the second to be in Riyadh.
Hearn is in a rush to fight Joshua-Fury because he knows these two guys are too far to be trusted to fight top 15 fighters unless they are thoroughly tested in advance and deemed 100% safe.
