Serena Williams he has a message for the haters.
The 23-time, 43-time tennis champion has responded to recent speculation on social media about whether she has lightened her skin. Williams caused a stir last week after she shared a video of herself and her husband at a school event Alexis OhanianDaughter Olympia, 7. (The couple shares daughter Adira, 15 months.)
During an Instagram Live video on Monday, December 2, Williams shared her makeup routine with fans and revealed some gossip.
“Usually, I go back a third time and apply that neutral color which is actually my skin tone. And no, you haters out there, I don’t burn my skin,” Williams said while applying makeup under her eyes.
He added, “There is something called sunlight and in that sunlight, you get different colors.”
Williams said she was wearing “stage make-up” in the video which sparked speculation, explaining that she was volunteering for the Olympia school play.

“That’s just not my thing, and if people do it, that’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should … I don’t judge, but you do,” he continued. “That’s what this world is all about and I live in my own lane, which I don’t choose and I keep it. But, no, actually, I don’t burn my skin. So, can we just clear that up?”
As well as dispelling speculation about her skin tone, Williams also supported her husband through his latest health scare. Ohanian, 41, last week shared that he underwent thyroid surgery to prevent cancer.
