‘Scrubs’ Creator Bill Lawrence Is Working On Rebooting The Show

A Scrubs The reboot is reportedly in development with the creator Bill Lawrence on board to work on the revival.

Variety It was reported on Thursday, December 5 that Lawrence, 55, is developing a reboot of the beloved 2000s medical sitcom, with his current studio, Warner Bros. Television allowing him to work with 20th Television to make the reboot possible.

In accordance with Variety, No other deals or release decisions have been made at this time.

The series ran for nine seasons from 2001 and 2010 Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff and more, and chronicles the lives of the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Lawrence and many of the show’s cast members have expressed their desire to return for a reboot in interviews over the years.

Braff, who played John ‘JD’ Dorian said Entertainment Tonight in August that he was available to reprise his role but it was mostly the behind-the-scenes business deals surrounding Lawrence that prevented the reboot from coming to fruition.

Scrubs a Disney show. The bill [Lawrence] he has a Warner Bros. deal. Once those two companies get that, I think people will get what they want. I think it will happen.” Braff, 49, told the media.

Braff added that he wouldn’t mind coming back if the opportunity arose.

“It would be a lot of fun [with] all the people I love,” said Braff. “We are all still sitting. A lot of people who were in long shows say that, but it’s true. I was on holiday with Sarah Chalke … going to the beach with Bill next weekend. We are all friends.”

Faison, who played Braff’s best friend Dr. Chris Turk in the series, echoed this view in February when he spoke with. Us Weekly.

“We are trying to do a Scrubs situation,” said Faison, 50. “I think everyone is going to be happy in the near future if you’re human Scrubs fan.”

Faison also admitted that there were plans for it to happen but said at the time they were trying to push it back.

“We’re trying,” he said. “We’re really trying.”

In June 2022, the cast and crew reunited for a panel at the ATX Festival, and Faison noted that they would “like to work together again.”

“It’s just that it’s really hard,” explained Faison. “It can’t be a full season of a show – it has to be a movie or something like that, where you can only give a few months. Everyone does things.”

Meanwhile, Lawrence, during the festival, said that he would be interested in a revival, adding, “We will do it because we are lucky that people care about us. From top to bottom, we enjoy spending time together. If you’ve ever had an excuse to work with people you’d like to spend time with anyway, run for it… It’s worth it to me Neil [Flynn] I’m back in that jumpsuit again.”
