A few weeks ago, Sarah Jessica Parker took to Instagram to share the many things she takes with her on her filming days And Just Like That. The mother of three had hand sanitizer, Dior lip gloss, hair ties, Papermate pens and a Tootsie roll lollipop in her custom-painted canvas bin — essentials that many other mothers might carry. But what caught my eye was something unpleasant: a retro drugstore smell memories, Skin Musk perfume.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of movies and TV shows? You might think it’s all glitz and glamour, even when the cameras aren’t rolling, but that’s not always the case. It turns out that the stars manage the daily tasks and organize their bags from one place to another. How do […]

As Parker highlighted each item, she noted where she got them and why she considers these must-haves to be her favorites. About the fragrance, the 59-year-old age-defying actress said, “I mean…Bonne Bell Skin Musk. Not much to say about that,” with a heavy dose of IYKYK in his tone.

If you don’t remember, Bonne Bell introduced the famous lip balms that were in every Gen X’s Hello Kitty wallet when they were young. And it made great perfumes, like Skin Musk, which all the cool kids wore. As a Gen X herself, SJP is so obsessed that she even made him still you can’t leave home without it! Not knowing it was still available, I immediately needed to find this scent. As it turns out, Bonne Bell is no more, but Skin Musk is still available at Walmart, and shoppers say one spritz is enough to send you back to your pre-teens. Even better, returns are just $13!

Have you ever wanted to smell your favorite dessert? (I know I have.) It’s not a terrible idea – gourmand perfumes (popular perfumes with edible notes like chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toffee and honey) have always been popular. It turns out that many people want to smell good fragrances, and Le Monde Gourmand perfumery is very focused. […]

I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable with the soft floral, sandalwood and musk scent. Legions of consumers have been delighted to discover the scent of leather, saying it never fails to impress. One devotee said, “I’ve used this musky cologne for over 40 years, back when it was by Bonne Bell. It’s still my favorite, and I still get compliments on it. It’s a great cologne at a great price.”

One customer agrees, writing “I used to wear this in my younger days, and when I sprayed this today, it brought back a lot of memories. And it had the same smell as usual and it lasted half a day. It is not strong. It’s a warm and inviting scent and you need less. It smells so good. I would recommend it to anyone.”

This fragrance also earns the rare distinction of being an all-year winner. As we patiently await the return of Carrie Bradshaw to our TV screens AJLT season three, at least we can have the olfactory pleasure of smelling like him. Fans say bottles run out of stock from time to time and are not sold in stores, so buy while you can.

While I’ve always been skeptical about celebrity skin care lines, I’m a big fan of celebrity perfumes. The industry has seen a huge shake-up since the glory days (also known as the early 2000s) when almost every celebrity created their own signature fragrance. There wasn’t much of a buzz in the celebrity perfume space in the 2010s, but lately, there has been […]
