Ryan Garcia Says He’s Not Giving Haney A Rematch Now

Ryan Garcia said today on social media that he will not give Devin Haney a second chance because of the lawsuit he filed. Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) may not have realized his offense would cause this reaction because he wanted a second fight. He may not have judged the way Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) would.

Assuming Ryan doesn’t change his mind, Haney’s case is a repeat of himself, and if it doesn’t bring in billions, it will be a big mistake.

Not getting a second fight with Ryan leaves Haney in a tough spot because he’s not a PPV draw, and there aren’t any big pay-per-view stars at 140 or 147.

Haney is too big for Gervonta Davis to fight. That’s the only other money fighter next to Ryan. If Haney moves up to 154, there’s only one star: Terence Crawford. However, he only wants Canelo Alvarez, and he probably won’t be interested in fighting Haney unless the Honorable Turki Alalshikh pays him big money.

Haney filed a lawsuit Friday regarding his fight with Ryan Garcia on April 20, alleging fraud and battery. Ryan tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine.

It’s a money grab. What he does will earn him more money. I don’t know why he’s dragging it out,” Ryan Garcia told X about Devin Haney’s charge of battery, fraud and unjust enrichment.

Some fans on social media believe that Haney’s crime is to continue milking Ryan for their fight money. There is no other fighter Haney can give him the kind of payday he got from Ryan. So, if Haney wins the case and gets a rematch on top of that, he’ll be doing great.

Unfortunately, Haney shot himself in the foot with the offense because Ryan says he won’t fight him now. We don’t know if other fighters and their promoters will want to avoid Haney out of concern that he might be sued for this or that.

“You’re going to take two L’s. One on the court, one in the ring. He was yelling at Eddie Hearn, “You’re not giving me tickets,'” Garcia continued.

“Let’s say they took all my money from the case. That won’t hurt me. None of this will stop me. I can’t wait for the trial to make them look stupid.

“If I drank every day, how would I have a six pack? How can I get to 143 when I hit beers? They sued me because I f***ed them. They underestimated me,” said Garcia about Team Haney.

Haney felt that due to his recent wins over Regis Prograis, Vasily Lomachenko, and George Kambosos Jr, he had the ability to defeat Garcia without too much trouble. Ryan had not beaten anyone near the level of Prograis or Lomachenko during his career. Therefore, Haney thought he would beat him based on his superior experience.

“Whenever I wanted to hit him, I could hit him. When I looked at him, it was like, ‘boom, boom, boom.’ I will not give him a repeat after this. After suing and all the funny business. I don’t care if you’re gay. Just agree.

“It is very embarrassing for him. I am thinking of fighting in Dubai or Tokyo. I really don’t know what the case is about. They allegedly charged me with battery. “Anyway, he beat me at the Empire State Building,” said Garcia.

Haney sued Ryan for battery and fraud. Given the amount of PEDs in Ryan’s system, it’s not clear that a judge would award Haney enough damages to make the case successful in the first place. If he loses the rematch with Ryan because of guilt, it’s a failure if he doesn’t get a big fortune.
