Rogue Capybara Escapes Capture in Exciting Fashion
The wily capybara first missed the zoo on Friday, September 12, and was spotted just outside the fence the next day. From then until the following Tuesday, Cinnamon eluded rescuers, almost invisible in the dense crowd surrounding the zoo. He was then identified by a special aircraft equipped with infrared sensors, but his position in the overgrown brush made it difficult to capture.
Among the sightings, the search team identified new songs and excrement of the capybara, indicating that it is alive and well in the area. Somehow, the giant rat has turned out to be more unlikely than one might think.
