Lead singer Pat Monahan is ready to part ways with his lakeside home in Seattle.
The singer and his wife, Amber Peterson, first purchased the home in 2011 for $2.95 million. They remodeled it to better meet their family’s needs, including adding an elevator that connects all three levels.
“There wasn’t much there,” Monahan told Mansion Global last month. “We did a lot of remodeling, and we took the bulkhead to turn it into a proper beach, the best in the environment.”
The 5,537-square-foot, five-bedroom, five-bathroom multilevel home is now on the market for $8.2 million with listing agent Todd Rauch of Windermere Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International.

Outside, the home is surrounded by tall hedges, lush green lawns and trees all around, with a long driveway leading to a three-car attached garage with wooden doors. The home’s wooden front door is accented with stone pillars, as are the garage doors.
“[They] they poured their hearts into this house, creating a home where family and friends can gather to enjoy themselves,” Rauch told the outlet. “Their love of the Northwest is evident throughout.”

Once inside, guests are greeted by a two-story entryway with access to two sets of stairs, one leading to the upper level, and the other leading to the finished basement, which includes many of the home’s enviable rooms.
On the main level, guests will find a slightly open floor plan with an attached kitchen and great room, both with large windows offering beautiful views of Lake Sammamish.

Besides the beautiful view, the living room features a wood-burning fireplace, and built-in bookshelves on both sides with a built-in flat-screen TV on the right. The room also boasts access to an outdoor deck with a small seating area.
Attached to the living room is an all-wood kitchen with exposed beams arranged in a square pattern. Another highlight of the kitchen is the large central dining island, which also has additional storage space, a large sink and a mini fridge for drinks.

Also notable are two microwave ovens, a dishwasher, a large refrigerator and a double oven, topped with a ceramic tile backsplash. It also has unique light fixtures that hang above the center island.

Just steps from the central island is a large window overlooking the lake, with a breakfast nook located directly below, serving as an informal dining area with a view.

Through an opening lined with wooden cases in the kitchen, guests can enter the formal dining room, which includes an accent wall with beige wallpaper and white angular designs. The opposite wall opens onto an outdoor deck with a second outdoor seating area.
“We never had any speedboats go by. It’s very quiet on that part of the lake,” Monahan explained to Mansion Global. “It will be hard to leave our house. We have so many wonderful memories of raising our children there. There is so much luck, warmth and positive energy there.”

Across the hall from the dining room is the music room, which has a second fireplace and colorful paintings and is currently home to Monahan’s Grammy Awards, as well as other awards for his musical achievements. The room also has a piano and several guitars.
The home’s five bedrooms are spread across three levels, and each has unique features that make it unique. One of the bedrooms has a treehouse-style bed, and the other has a tree painted on the wall behind the bed.

On the third level is the master bedroom, with its own private balcony with beautiful lake views. The room also has built-in bookshelves with a fireplace, as well as space for a television and storage drawers.
Attached to the master bedroom is a luxurious ensuite bathroom, featuring a double vanity, standing shower, fireplace and soaking tub located under a large window with lake views.

Also on the ground floor there is a recreation area with a pool table, which is close to the second kitchen of the house. The small kitchen on the ground floor has a dishwasher, sink, food counter and refrigerator, but does not include an oven.
Outside of the lawn, the backyard is small, but it doesn’t stop there. The backyard has direct access to Lake Sammamish and has its own private dock where owners can dock their boats.
