RHOC’s Shannon Beador on Joel Kim Booster’s ‘Painful’ Comments
Shannon Beador opens up about the “really hurtful” comments. The Love Hotel the host Joel Kim Booster made of him after filming wrapped.
“I was very shocked,” he said The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 60, told Nick Viall Thursday, October 31, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “I was at the airport, we have wrapped. And the last time I saw him was when we finished filming. She shed tears on me and hugged me, so, I don’t know what’s going on. It hurts and makes me feel bad because I am always close to the workers. I consider them my family.”
In a since-deleted Instagram post from September, Booster, 36, called Beador a “sad drunk” who “treats his co-workers like they’re human,” adding that he hopes he “suffers.”
When Beador was asked what her first reaction was when she saw Booster’s post, the television star said she and other cast and crew members couldn’t believe what they were reading.
“Everyone was like that [shocked] – girls, Gizelle [Bryant], Luann [de Lesseps] again Ashley [Darby]who I love to death,” continued Bravolebrity. “We are imprisoned for the rest of our lives now but they are really supportive. Everyone was surprised.”
After Viall, 44, said he thought Booster’s apology on social media made him “look really bad,” Beador said Qualifications Booster ended up emailing him an apology.
“I am very happy with the performance of this program. It will be really good. If you see this show, you will look stupid because we were friends,” he added. “I can forgive anyone. But you can forgive, you don’t have to forget. And I don’t think it was a genuine apology and I’ll just leave it at that.”
Beador made similar comments on “Shannon and Vicki Live!” show at the Irvine Improv in California in early October, telling the audience that he “really” doesn’t know “what it’s all about.”
One week later, Booster issued a public apology to Beador for his Instagram story, in which he appeared to take responsibility for his actions.
“Re: Moms of all things, I’ve had a lot of time to think and process this and I wish I wasn’t the guy who posted those statements on Instagram, but the truth is I am,” the comedian wrote at the time. “I let the initial conflict cloud my judgment and I reached the darkest, worst part of me and said things that I don’t stand for or believe and I’m very sorry for letting my ego cloud my judgment.”
He added, “I know Shannon has had an incredibly difficult year as she has bravely shared and as someone who has had issues at work, I should have been more kind to her at that time.” I am deeply sorry for the ways I have made Shannon’s road to stability so difficult and I hope she comes out on the other side strong, healthy and with the love she deserves in her life.”
Booster hosts season 1 of The Love Hotela Real Housewives franchise spinoff series and dating show. Beador was announced as the first cast member in July along with her The Real Housewives of New York‘s de Lesseps, 59, and The PotomacBryant, 54, and Darby, 36.
The ladies were filmed in Cabo San Lucas throughout the month of September, but a release date has not been set.
