Review: ADLERS Hotel, Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria

The ADLERS Hotel in Innsbruck is a place where opposites collide in the most exciting ways. A beacon of modern design in the heart of Innsbruck, a place where minimalist interiors are framed by rugged, snow-dusted peaks, and a rooftop bar where you can enjoy a glass of wine while looking out over the fairytale landscape. the story. Innsbruck itself is a vibrant city where historic cobbled streets meet the sharp, modern edge of a vibrant ski culture – and ADLERS reflects this well. But does it live up to its promise of being a gateway to both luxury and entertainment? Let’s take a closer look.

Acceptance

First impressions are everything, and ADLERS knows that. From the moment you walk into the cozy, low-key space, the staff greets you in a manner that never compromises warmth. We had arrived on an early morning flight but were able to leave our luggage, go explore the city, and check into our room when we returned later.

The room

The hotel’s 79 rooms are located on the upper floors of the building. We are in rooms 712 and 716 – Panorama Classic category – on the seventh floor. If ever a hotel room was designed to remind you that you’re in the Alps, this is it. ADLERS rooms are ordered in their place, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame Innsbruck like a living postcard.

Waking up to the view of the Nordkette mountain range is a humbling experience – the kind that makes you truly appreciate the natural beauty of the city’s surroundings. The interior design of the 25 square meter room is clean and contemporary, all clean lines and earthy tones, with just enough soft furnishings to keep things cool.

And the bed? It’s incredibly comfortable, and you won’t have to fight with your partner for a duvet – in Austria, it’s common to have separate duvets for each person.

The view from the bedroom is nothing short of amazing. Below, Innsbruck’s colorful buildings line the streets, their stark facades set against the snow-capped mountains.

Streets, trams and railways extend throughout the city, creating a dynamic contrast between urban life and the quiet Alpine peaks. A view that perfectly captures the unique combination of nature and modernity that defines Innsbruck – a constant reminder of the beautiful landscape that surrounds the city.

The bathroom

The en suite bathroom at ADLERS is modern and elegant, offering everything you need. It is well lit and has a panoramic mirror, a basin, a WC and an open entrance shower. Unlike in the UK, where the wiring laws are very restrictive, it is common in many European countries, including Austria, to have sockets in the bathroom and here is another.

ADLERS branded body lotion and liquid hand soap on both sides of the container. A hairdryer and slippers are neatly placed on the bottom shelf, and robes are available if you wish to go to the spa.

The rain shower is especially energizing – one of the most powerful I’ve encountered in many of our hotel stays around the world. The hair and body shampoo from Natural Remedies, a premium body care line developed by ADA Cosmetics in neighboring Germany, is easily wall-mounted inside the shower.

Resources

The star of ADLERS venues is, without a doubt, its rooftop bar and restaurant located on the 12th floor. Offering far-reaching panoramic views of the city, it is a destination for both visitors and locals.

The menu of the weitsicht restaurant reflects a modern and dynamic experience, combining Tyrolean regional flavors with international influences. All venison is dry aged and sourced from the reliable Tyrolean butcher Gunter of A la Carte in Haiming, 50 kilometers west of Innsbruck.

We especially enjoyed the black garlic soup with shrimp. And the wild salmon marinated in salt water, cucumber, sesame and Ponzu was also a great option.

For mains, we recommend the duck duet served with red cabbage and rosemary potatoes, or the Hokkaido pumpkin squash and salmon.

There is an ever-changing selection of seasonal desserts. If available, you can’t go wrong with ‘mandel and schoko’ (almond and chocolate), served with honey ice cream.

The hotel also has its own spa with a lounge area with a magnificent view. You can go up here to relax, sit and read a book, or simply marvel at the landscape in front of you.

There is also a sauna and steam room but, as usual in Austria, nudity is expected. You can simply stop using this spa feature if this sounds un-British to you.

Location

Few hotels can boast a better location than ADLERS. Smack in the middle of Innsbruck and just steps from the main train station, it’s perfectly located for exploring the city and the mountains. You’re just a short walk from the golden-roofed charm of Old Town, yet close enough to the ski lifts to make mornings on the slopes feel effortless. Basically, all of beautiful Innsbruck is on your doorstep.

Another nice touch

Tea and coffee facilities, and a mini fridge, which is refreshed each day with a fresh bottle of chilled water, can be found in each room.

Costs

Panorama Classic rooms start from 111 euros per night.

At the other end of the room category spectrum, the Panorama Presidential Suite starts from 749 euros per night.

The best beat

For me, it would have to be amazing ideas. What really sets ADLERS apart is its sense of place. As the highest hotel in Innsbruck, it feels deeply connected to the mountains and woven into the fabric of Innsbruck itself. It is rare and wonderful that a hotel can make you feel more connected to your surroundings.

Final decision

ADLERS Hotel doesn’t just offer a place to stay – it offers an experience. From the moment you arrive to the second you leave, it feels like a celebration of everything that makes Innsbruck unique: the mountains, the culture, the seamless blend of old and new. Yes, it’s modern, and yes, it’s quite comfortable – but more than that, it’s very comfortable. Whether you’re in Innsbruck for fun, relaxation, or simply soaking in the beauty of the Alps, ADLERS is a solid, flawless choice for your time in the city.
