Quincy Jones Funeral: Music Mogul Laid to Rest in Private Practice

Quincy Jones he was laid to rest during a private funeral a week after his death at the age of 91.

The legendary music producer’s family told the Associated Press on Monday, November 11, that “the fellowship event included Mr. Jones’ seven children, his brother, two sisters and close family members.”

The family did not disclose where the Los Angeles engagement event took place, according to the AP, but said they are “deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences and tributes from his friends and fans around the world.”

“Details of Mr Jones’ memorial service will be announced at a later date,” the family added.

Jones died Sunday, November 3, at his home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, his publicist said Arnold Robinson he said, each of the many shops including The Hollywood Reporter and the Associated Press.

Jones is survived by his children Jolie71, whom he shared with his first wife, Jerry Caldwell, Martina,58, and Quincy IIIwho shared his second wife, an actress Ulla Andersson, Rachel61, with whom he shared an ex-girlfriend Carol Reynolds, A duck50, and actor Rashida48, who lived with a third wife Peggy Liptonand a daughter Kenya31, with whom he shared an ex-girlfriend Nastassja Kinski.

Parks and Recreation star Rashida paid tribute to her late father in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, November 7.

“My father lived at night all his life as an adult. He started ‘jazz hours’ in high school and never looked back. When I was young, I would wake up in the middle of the night to look for him,” wrote Rashida, 48, along with a photo of her father holding her as a child. “Without a doubt, he’ll be in the house, composing (old school, pen and sheet music). He wouldn’t put me back in bed. He would smile and hug me as he continued to work…there was no safer place in the world than me.”

He continued, “He was a giant. An icon. A culture shifter. An artist. All accurate descriptions of my father but his music (and ALL his work) was a channel of his love. HE WAS IN LOVE. He made everyone he met feel loved and noticed. That is his legacy. I was lucky to find this love nearby.”

Rashida closed her note with a message to her late father. “I will miss his hugs and kisses and his unconditional love and advice,” she wrote. “Dad, it is an honor to be your daughter. Your love lasts forever.”
