President Yoon is banned from leaving South Korea

The Ministry of Justice in South Korea has prevented President Yoon Suk Yeol from leaving the country, as there is political turmoil in the country.

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported on Monday that the reason for the travel ban was the ongoing investigation against Yoon for alleged treason.

Yoon unexpectedly imposed martial law in his country last Tuesday night and a few hours later, after much political opposition, he rescinded the order.

On Saturday evening, the proposal of the opposition parties to criticize the president in parliament failed. However, public pressure against the 63-year-old continues.
