Police called the JetBlue passenger after opening the emergency door

An unruly JetBlue passenger opened the exit from a flight attempting to take off from Boston on Monday, causing the plane to deploy its emergency slide.

The incident, which took place at Boston Logan International Airport on Tuesday evening, was confirmed by JetBlue and the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). Massport told FOX Business that the suspect was a man.

“[He] we tried to open the door while the plane was taxiing and emergency services were called in,” said the official, adding that no injuries were reported.

Massachusetts State Police (MSP) arrived at the scene around 7:25 pm and arrested the passenger. The MSP Army told FOX Business that the response was due to “reports of disturbances.”

JetBlue later told FOX Business that the flight was delayed due to the incident.

“[The] “The customer, for unknown reasons, opened the overhead exit while the aircraft was taxiing at Logan, causing the emergency slide to be deployed,” the airline said.

As of 8:30 p.m., JetBlue said it was “working to get our customers on board as quickly as possible.”

The Logan Airport incident was not the only unusual incident involving JetBlue this week. Two bodies were found on JetBlue Flight 1801 from JFK Airport in New York City to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Monday.

Officials found the bodies, which were placed in the cockpit, during a general condition check, a JetBlue spokesperson told FOX Business.
