In New York, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a “fruitful” series with CEOs of leading American technology companies, where he emphasized India’s growth opportunities and discussed plans to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields. The meeting was held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel on Sunday during the second leg of Modi’s three-day visit to the United States. It saw the participation of CEOs of 15 major US-based companies working in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, quantum computing and semiconductors.

During the summit, Modi said technological cooperation and initiatives such as the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET) are at the heart of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, according to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs.
The prime minister emphasized that in his third term, India will do everything possible to become the third largest economy in the world, and encouraged companies to use this opportunity for India’s growth through cooperation and innovation.
“They can assemble, integrate, and manufacture for the rest of the world in India, taking advantage of the opportunities arising from India’s growing economy and technology,” the press release said.
Organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, CEOs of top US technology companies, including Google Photos CEO, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayena, Accenture CEO Julie Sweet and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang were present at the conference.
Other participants in the series include AMD CEO Lisa Su, HP Inc. Enrique Lores, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, Dr. Noubar Afeyan, Chairman of Moderna, and Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg.
Reassuring business leaders of India’s deep commitment to intellectual property protection and promoting technological innovation, Modi highlighted the economic transformation taking place in the country, particularly in the manufacturing of electronic technology and semiconductors.
Modi asserted that his government is committed to making India a “global hub for semiconductor manufacturing”.
He also spoke about India’s BIO E3 policy (biotechnology for environment, economy and employment) to develop the country into a biotech powerhouse and on the topic of AI, he noted that India’s policy is to promote AI for All, supported by its use ethics and honesty. .
CEOs appreciated India’s growing prominence as a global technology hub, driven by its innovation-friendly policies and booming market opportunities. They also expressed a strong interest in investing and collaborating with India, agreeing that investing in startups will be a joint opportunity to innovate and develop new technologies in the country.
