Parts of Swiatek Ways with long-time trainer Tomasz Wiktorowski

A three-year partnership of Iga Swiatek again Tomasz Wiktorowski it’s over. Five-time major league champion Swiatek announced the news on Instagram on Friday, saying the rest of his team will remain the same.

“After 3 years of great success in my career, together with my coach Tomasz Wiktorowski we decided to part ways,” wrote Swiatek. “I want to start with a big thank you and appreciation for our work together.”

Swiatek began racing with Wiktorowski at the end of the 2021 season. The pair captured four of Swiatek’s Grand Slam titles during their three-year partnership, and entered 19 of Swiatek’s 22 majors.

“Coach Wiktorowski joined my team for three seasons, when I really needed changes and a new way of playing,” wrote Swiatek. “His experience, analytical and strategic attitude and vast knowledge of tennis have helped us achieve things I never dreamed of in just a few months since we started working together.

“Our main goal was to be the number 1 player in the world and coach Wiktorowski was the first to say it. We aimed very high, we headed to every tournament with a clear goal to win it. Together with coach Wiktorowski we won many tournaments and 4 Grand Slams.”

Swiatek also announced his withdrawal from the Wuhan Open next week.

He said he is taking a few weeks off to start working with the new coach.

“I am in the middle of initial discussions with foreign (non-Polish) coaches,” he wrote. “Because I am ready to take the next step in my career. I will let you know when I make a decision.”
