Pamela Anderson Responds to Oscars Snub: ‘I Couldn’t Imagine It Anyway’
Pamela Anderson gained weight after missing out on an Oscar nomination.
The actress, 57, received praise for her performance The Ultimate Showgirl. However, she was absent from the Best Actress in a Leading Role category when the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards were announced on Thursday, January 23.
According to Anderson, this incident was not a surprise.
“Oh my god, it’s not what I expected. Doing the work is winning,” he told Elle.com after the nominees were announced on Thursday. “That’s what I love to do, and I think we might not see that sometimes in all the crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

Despite missing out on an Oscar, Anderson was recognized with a nomination The Ultimate Showgirl at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
“I didn’t think [it] anyway. I’m happy about the SAG nomination, of course [voted on by] your peers. That’s really cool,” Anderson told the outlet.

“I wish I’d started my career sooner — I’d get movie roles sooner,” she continued, referring to her Golden Globe-nominated role. “But it was worth the wait.”
Anderson spoke candidly about the evolution of his career in early October after receiving the Golden Eye Award at the Zurich Film Festival.
