OpenAI closes the biggest VC round of all time

Welcome back to Review Week. This week, we dive into OpenAI’s $6.6 billion fundraising round, the fifth Cybertruck anniversary in less than a year, and a neat project that’s Shazam-ing songs on the streets of San Francisco. Let’s get into it.
OpenAI closed the largest VC round of all time this week. The startup announced that it has raised $6.6 billion in a funding round that values OpenAI at $157 billion. ElevenLabs is coming with existing and new investors about the new round, which could value the company as much as $3 billion, TechCrunch has learned. This 2-year-old company specializes in developing AI tools to generate artificial voices for audiobook narration and real-time video dubbing in other languages.
Elon Musk’s IX is now less expensive more than a quarter of its $44 billion purchase price, according to a new estimate from investor Fidelity.
