Political scientist Stephen Walt says that the US’s unconditional support for Israel does not help its long-term future.
Israel has been able to deal with serious problems in Iran and Hezbollah, but no one should expect that “suddenly they want to terminate the agreement”, said the famous political scientist Stephen Walt, professor of international affairs at Harvard University.
Walt tells commander Steve Clemons that Israel will have difficulty translating the short-term tactical success it had in late September into major strategic gains.
With one year since the war in Gaza, direct blows between Iran and Israel, and the upcoming war in Lebanon, Walt says that the US’s unconditional support for Israel threatens its long-term future.
