Nomad Black Friday Sale 2024: Deals on Chargers, iPhone Cases

Nomad regularly features in many of our shopping guides. Its wireless chargers, iPhone cases, and Apple Watch bands are well-made and functional with a stylish, albeit slightly expensive, aesthetic. That was resolved with the Nomad Black Friday Sale event, with discounts of up to 30 percent on selected products, and up to 80 percent in the Outlet section of the company. The auction starts today and runs until December 3rd at 11:59 pm Pacific time.

If you need a charging adapter, USB-C cable, MagSafe wireless charger, or a new band for your Apple Watch, I’ve rounded up some of the company’s best Black Friday deals below.

Nomad’s Stand One is our favorite wireless charger if you’re willing to shell out the cash, making it an even smarter purchase during this sale. This is the Qi2 version, which will be compatible with the wave of Qi2 Android phones arriving in 2025, but also works with MagSafe iPhones (iPhone 13 models with new support for the Qi2 protocol). The regular MagSafe version of this charger is also great and retails for $77 ($33 off).

Got an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods? You need a 3-in-1 wireless charger to make recharging easy. Nomad’s Base One Max gets the job done and looks great while doing it. The iPhone stays flat on the MagSafe pad, great if you don’t want it to get in the way, and the Apple Watch puck stays upright so you can use Nightstand mode. It’s heavy and sleek, comes with a USB-C cable, but needs a power supply. There is also a standalone version to keep your device supported.

If you often find yourself with a dead phone, disconnect Nomad’s ChargeKey and leave it on your keychain. This small USB-C to USB-C cable allows you to connect your device to any other USB-C device (laptop, laptop, or friend’s phone) for charging. It supports up to 60 watts, so it can be useful for a MacBook in a pinch if your power source is close enough. The two connectors stick together and sit neatly on the keychain.

Nomad’s Slim chargers that I carry with me whenever I leave the house. The prongs are collapsible, meaning they are very small. This is a 65-watt model that works for laptops and the like, but it’s also available in 35 watts if you want to recharge a phone. I have used this charger on airplanes, hotels, and coffee shops with no problems. There are two USB-C ports below, each offering 65 watts on its own, but splitting into 45 watts and 20 watts when both are in use.

They are not small, but they are small and affordable. These power adapters won’t block another wall outlet and while the prongs aren’t bendable, they are very small. This model is 30 watts, which is good for fast-charging phones and tablets, but you can step down to a 20-watt model to save even more money (it’s also good for phones and tablets, but not fast).

I have not tested this charger, but I have tested the standard 65-watt model. I prefer the Slim variant, but the main reason to buy this one is because it has a built-in charging module for the Apple Watch on top. So you can connect your USB-C cable to charge your iPhone and put your Apple Watch on top of the power adapter, keeping things tidy.

Nomad’s Kevlar cables are thick and braided, and you get plenty of connectivity options. One end has USB-C or USB-A, and the other has USB-C or MicroUSB. It’s useful for all those old gadgets that haven’t switched to USB-C yet. You have three lengths to choose from, and you can even get a standard cable without adapters if you have all the USB-C gear. It can carry up to 100 watts.

Case and strap deals

I like Nomad’s Rugged Case, which supports MagSafe. There’s a thick urethane thermoplastic bumper that provides a good grip, and a smooth polycarbonate frame. There is a shortcut for the Camera Control button, and an Action Button button. It’s only available on Pro iPhones, which is a shame.

Nomad’s leather cases have long been my go-to recommendation for anyone in the market. The Traditional Leather Case is made from sustainably sourced Ecco leather (you have to pay more for the premium Horween leather model). There is a gap for the Camera Control button rather than a cutout, so it looks weird.

Often on the go with your Apple Watch? A rugged strap would be a good idea to keep your smartwatch clean. It is waterproof, uses FKM rubber so the belt can withstand high temperatures, and has stainless steel lugs and buckets. Make sure you buy the right size for your smartwatch.

The company’s sports bands are less durable, use the same fluoroelastomer rubber (FKM) and are waterproof. There is a nice light-on-dark version but it’s sold out. In fact, most colors are sold offensively. Legacy color belts are deeply discounted by 30 percent.

This is not for us favorite titanium band, that would be Sandmarc. Nomad’s version is more expensive, but it’s made of grade 5 titanium, has a magnetic clasp, and comes with tools to adjust the length.
