New rooms and a Netflix restaurant are coming to the MGM Grand Las Vegas
Last year, MGM Resorts International and Marriott finalized an agreement that saw an impressive collection of Las Vegas megaresorts join the Marriott Bonvoy family. Now, the gaming giant’s namesake venue, the MGM Grand, is launching an extensive renovation set to give the resort a $300 million upgrade.

Scheduled to be completed in December, the planned $300 million facelift will give the main tower’s 4,212 rooms and suites a new lease of life with a modern take on the “disco era,” according to a statement from MGM Resorts International.
Designed in collaboration with architecture firm Gensler and MGM Resorts Design & Development, the upgraded rooms will feature a warm gray wall panel, updated media consoles, new outlets near the beds, modern smart TVs, upgraded black drapey, overhead, new separate refrigerators . from the mini bar, and spa-renovated bathrooms with new walk-in showers.
The renovation will also add 111 suites to the hotel’s inventory, bringing the total number of suites to 753, starting at 675 square feet in size and reaching more than 2,500. The new and improved suites will feature a solid black finish with accent power such as sheer roller shades to bring in the light. Residences will feature new stages and artwork that change based on your viewing position. Overall, the suites will be very functional, with layouts that clearly separate work and pleasure.
The new rooms and suites will be available to book from March 1.

While the rooms and suites are the main focus of the project, other areas of the resort are also getting exciting changes.
As of Feb. 20, the MGM Grand will be home to a full-service restaurant called Netflix Bites, developed in partnership with streaming service Netflix. Located on the casino floor, Netflix Bites will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer a menu inspired by Netflix shows like “Stranger Things,” “Bridgerton” and more.
The menu teaser includes:
- “Eleven’s Fried Feast” – crispy chicken and waffle sliders are perfect for your favorite low-scratch meal, served both “Hawkins” and “Upside Down” style
- “Bridgerton Regency Tea” – a three-course high tea service with finger sandwiches, scones and cakes from Ton, served with a menu designed by Lady Whistledown herself.
- “La Casa del Sangria” — a Spanish-style cocktail with golden mint leaves, served in a lock box that will have guests solving a puzzle, challenging even the sharpest “Money Heist” operatives
- “Too Hot to Handle”-inspired bloody mary-spicy cocktail comes with its own holder in case guests can’t handle the heat
The MGM Grand will also be home to a new day club called Palm Tree Beach Club, which will open in May. Founded by musicians Kygo and Myles Shear, the day club will open in partnership with Tao Group Hospitality, known for its collection of world-renowned resorts.
Once open, the Rockwell Group-designed club will span 60,000 feet and feature a stage, saltwater pool, bungalows, cabanas, daybeds and chaise lounges in an area designed to accommodate more than 3,000 people.
