“My Son” – Andy Cruz Taunts Keyshawn Davis While Celebrating His Title Win

2020 Olympic Cuban Andy Cruz hopes Keyshawn will succeed in his title challenge against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14. Cruz says he wants to take the WBO belt from Keyshawn (12-0, 8 KOs) if he wins. Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn will be shown on ESPN and ESPN+. The event starts at 9:00 pm ET/6:00 PT.

Andy refers to Davis as “my son” because of his many victories. However, he still wants to beat Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) next month. He says he will be watching the fight.

History of Dominion

That would be Cruz’s fifth win over Keyshawn. His record is perfect 4-0, and has repeatedly called out Top Rank-promoted Davis since turning pro, but without luck. Keyshawn doesn’t want to lose again, so he makes an excuse.

Even if Davis beats Berinchyk, he won’t defend the WBO title against Cruz. He is the last person who would think of fighting because he knows what will happen if they fight.

That would be like Keyshawn handing over the WBO belt. He has already said what he wants to do when he puts his hands on the belt. Davis says he wants to use it to try to attract WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis to a unification fight. That’s a dream that has no chance of happening because Tank is focused on epic battles.

Keyshawn’s excuse for not fighting Andy Cruz

  • “He is not ready. He has no followers. All his followers are built around me.”
  • “That man is not trying to fight me. I will take him out. He’s just not ready yet.”
  • “We have already sent them the contract. I just started live with Eddie Hearn and I started a fight. I don’t know what else you want me to do [to make the Andy Cruz fight].

I don’t know how Keyshawn can directly say that Cruz is “not ready” to fight him since he beat him four times in the rookies and he still looks better than him in the veterans. Davis looked awful in his fights with Nahir Albright and Miguel Madueno. These are the only semi-good fighters Keyshawn has fought since turning pro. Some were scrubs.

“My son”

“I believe that my son has improved a lot. I hope he wins the belt to see if I can take it from him for the fifth time,” said Andy Cruz speaking to YSM Sports Media, in response to Keyshawn David challenging WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14.

“Yes, I will watch that fight. What kind of father doesn’t watch his son?” said Cruz when asked if he will watch the fight between Keyshawn and Berinchyk.
